A Message From Our Pastor

Preaching the Word, Straight Down the Middle

Pastor Armstrong believes, lives, and teaches God’s word as given to us in Romans 12: 1-2, which reads:“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God”.

I welcome you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.

Pastor Armstrong is a “hands on” pastor so-to-speak. That is, he firmly believes in not just teaching and preaching God’s Word, but he also gets directly involved with the church and in the community. He is a wonderful supporter of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church auxiliaries. He personally assists the Mt. Carmel Laymen each month with the area laymen’s breakfast, with the various area nursing home ministries each month, with the community outreach for salvation ministry under the direction of Bro. James Williams, and our Pastor is always willing to assist and transport the Mt. Carmel youth to various local and state youth retreats and programs. He is a firm believer in the knowledge and power of God’s Word that is received by youth and adults that attend Sunday School. He is usually the first person to arrive at church on Sunday mornings and can be found in the kitchen making a pot of coffee, and oftentimes will bring a big box of homemade donuts to share during Sunday School.

Our church and our Pastor are active members and participants in the Ohio Baptist General Convention. Pastor Armstrong is very active in the State Convention and it’s auxiliaries, where he serves as President of the Congress of Christian Education for the OBGC. At the local level, he is Moderator of the Providence Regular Missionary Baptist Association which is comprised of 13 churches. Pastor Armstrong is committed through his faith to continually reach out to others in promoting the cause of Christ. We thank God for his total commitment and spiritual faith in God, and for his leadership as our Pastor and Shepherd.
To God be the glory for the things He hath done.
